Dyson doesn’t manufacture the V6 anymore – but the V7 series is an excellent replacement with several improvements.
The biggest difference is the longer 30-minute run-time. The V6 was criticised for its 20-minute battery life, which was too short for cleaning a home in one session. The V7 provides up to a half-hour of fade-free suction – although this drops if using a motorised tool.
Dyson has also included their no-touch dirt emptying system with the V7. Instead of a simple trap door, you empty the vacuum by pulling up a lever. This opens the hatch while simultaneously forcing dust and dirt out rather than relying on gravity.
Aside from these additions, the V7 Motorhead provides all the features you expect from a Dyson cordless. It has a detachable handheld mode, two-tiers of radial cyclones for consistent suction power, “MAX” power mode, and a lightweight 2.3kg design. The V7 is also quiet and easy to use, while the handheld mode is great for above floor cleaning and stairs.
